The factory

«the NiKKi Fron park», birthplace of BLANC BIJOU

NiKKi Fron, the progenitor of BLANC BIJOU, proactively reduces the environmental impact of its operations on a number of fronts. The most visible symbols of this commitment are Beluga, the Company’s newest factory, and “the NiKKi Fron park,” in which Beluga is situated. Completed in 2011, Beluga takes its name from the famous Beluga whale. Like the BLANC BIJOU produced here, the Beluga is pure white and emanates a wise, comforting presence.

The new factory encapsulates three core principles of NiKKi Fron:
-Create energy: Energy is derived from the spirit of our workers.
-Reduce energy use: A double-walled, thermos-like structure provides strong insulation.
-Reuse energy: This 30-year-old plant is freshly renovated.

Thanks to renovations, Beluga, originally constructed 30 years ago, is reborn with the efficacy of its cooling and heating systems significantly enhanced and a structure that blends harmoniously with its forested environs. Energy saved with the insulation is used to illuminate the factory with pure-white light, suggesting the unchanging whiteness of BLANC BIJOU.

Long before the word became fashionable, NiKKi Fron was an eco-friendly company. Common waste materials of the period during and shortly after the war, hemp and unsaleable silk, were used in the original plant’s foundation. Today NiKKi Fron continues this tradition, following a philosophy of valuing limited resources as we conduct our own intensive research on techniques for recycling fluoropolymers.
